The Brother MFC-3420C is an all-in-one color printer, color copier, color fax machine, and color scanner. The flatbed scanner provides up to 600 x 1,200 dpi maximum resolution and 36-bit color (256 levels of gray), with four one-touch buttons (scan to image, e-mail, OCR, file, and media card--Windows only) to help automate frequent tasks. Copies can be reduced or enlarged from 25% to 400% in 1% increments. Copy speeds are as fast as 12 cpm for black and 10 cpm for color, while up to 99 copies can be made at once, freeing up your time for other tasks.
The fax machine utilizes MH, MR, MMR, and JPEG (for color fax) fax coding methods. It has a 6-second per page transmission speed and is capable of color faxing. A fax memory of up to 200 pages ensures that your don't miss important faxes when you run out of paper, while the 40-entry speed dial, fax forwarding, and paging features provide added convenience. The remote retrieval function allows you to access your fax machine from outside of the office, while a 90-location fax broadcasting feature allows you to send multiple faxes from a single original.
The MFC-3420C has a standard input capacity of 100 sheets, a 50-sheet output capacity, and also comes with a 20-page automatic document feeder. The included software bundle helps you achieve the best scans and includes an OCR (optical character recognition) tool for scanning documents directly to text files.
